    Hi Bruce,

Sounds good to me, though I seem to hear a bit of room noise in some of the spaces.

    Best,

Thanks, Joe. I am glad you didn't detect any boxiness or hiss, which was the problem with one or two previous recordings.

    Regards,

    Hi Bruce,

There are two issues with this recording:

-There's a background noise/hum (sounds like something in your room). This could be largely solved by using a high-pass filter at around 80Hz.

-There are clicks at edit points. For example just before "sadly". This can be solved using fades or crossfades at edit points.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks for the great feedback everyone. Even though this recording was accepted internally by Voicebunny and the client, there is always room for improvement. I live in the countryside, but when I analyze the room tone with a spectrogram there is a peak at 60 Hz which is probably due to room resonance from a highway about a third of a mile away, so a high high pass filter should cut that out. The crossfading tip is good although I think the sound heard as a click is the "t" in the word "out" just before "sadly". Thanks again everyone, I have taken on board your advice.

    Regards,

    Bruce

    Hi everyone,

Here is a new sample for feedback. It is an audition script from "This Week on VoiceBunny" 23 Apr this year so that you know it is recent -"Backup for Mark Tour" https://www.dropbox.com/s/jc14nnppiwgmv55/VB%20REINSTATEMENT.wav?dl=0  .

I followed the advice given, and frankly I was amazed at the difference. After a flat EQ with only a 80Hz roll off, my room tone level went from -60 Db to -73 Db. And I am much better at my crossfades after practising.

I hope this is enough to be given the green light on VoiceBunny.

    Hi Bruce,

Sounds good! There is a big difference in between samples. And yeah, editing takes practice but soon it'll become routine.

We've now reactivated your account. Make sure all your submissions and samples match this quality.
